Pasta Diet and Other Food Myths

A study conducted in Italy has shown that pasta isn’t the devil it has been made out to be when it comes to weight loss. Often, pasta is pushed away when someone is on a diet. However the Italian researchers have reported that those who eat pasta actually have a lower Body Mass Index (BMI). Does this mean a new “Pasta Diet” is on the horizon? Probably not, but it wouldn’t be the weirdest diet fad to sweep the country.

There are a lot of foods out there that have been either targeted as a “bad food” when they good, or claimed to be a “good food” when they’re actually bad. There is a lot of conflicting information out there, so before you make any diet changes, check with your doctor. Not that the disclaimer is out of the way, here is what we found.

High cholesterol is a problem a lot of people face. Eggs do have cholesterol in them, however some studies have shown that it won’t affect the cholesterol in your blood. Also eggs are an incredibly good source of proteins and can actually help you lose weight when eaten as part of a healthy breakfast. Not quite as delicious as a pasta diet, but it still is nice to know you can eat those yummy omelettes without all the guilt.
