The classic children’s television show, Bill Nye the Science Guy, has been off the air since 1998. Its usage in schools often caused a riotous response. Whenever the TV cart was rolled into the room for science class, you know you were in for 22 minutes of fun. Classroom chants of “BILL! BILL! BILL!” were a hallmark of any 90’s kid’s school life, and his wacky, fun approach to science got many children hooked on biology, chemistry, and physics. Or at least until the endless Latin nomenclature and organic chemistry diagrams came into play. But now, the man who made the lab coat and bow-tie combination haute-couture is back with Bill Nye Saves the World. And we’re sure that millions of now 20-30 year olds will be tuning into Netflix for Bill Nye’s new show.
Consider the Following

Bill Nye’s new show will take on a different presentation style from his days with Bill Nye the Science Guy. The show will take on a talk-show format with a live studio audience. Nye will perform experiments and tackle more adult topics, including GMO’s, Alternative Medicine, and Sex. Instead of the kids that helped present his show, he will have a long list of popular celebrity guest stars. Sorry Luna Van Dyke, this isn’t time to interrupt the discussion on sex. But Bill Nye’s style will still remain the same. The energy and accessibility to science that kept students both educated and entertained will still be there, and of course, the main focus is still on science. Also, the show promises to
… tackle [topics] from a scientific point of view, dispelling myths and refuting anti-scientific claims that may be espoused by politicians, religious leaders or titans of industry.
Some have speculated that this will clash with Trump’s EPA appointment and policies, which could be a good thing. He has been a vocal supporter of climate change theory and has been heavily critical of Trump’s views on the environment.
The show will make its premiere on Netflix on April 21st, and will be released all at once. Perfect for binge watching and re-living childhood memories.
