You’ll Never Guess Who Broke the World Selfie Record

World Selfie Record Smashed by New Kids on the Block

That’s right, there’s a new Guinness World Record for the most selfies taken in under three minutes. Donnie Wahlberg claimed his prize after taking 122 selfies in three minutes with New Kids on the Block fans while on the NKOTB cruise. Wahlberg took the photos with fans who lined up on the cruise. Taking 122 selfies in three minutes amounts to one picture every 1.4 seconds, and was good enough for the world selfie record.

He’s already received a certificate from a Guinness representative — but opted for a traditional posed photo with it instead of a selfie. He Tweeted the following after receiving the award:

“Thanks to the best fans in the world for an amazing #NKOTBCruise2016 We did that!”

The previous record holder for the world selfie record was Dwayne Johnson, who took 105 selfies in three minutes with fans at the London premiere of San Andreas in May 2015. Wahlberg tried to set the world record last year, but didn’t quite get there after officials reviewed his submission.

He faces stiff competition from fellow selfie fanatics like Kendall Jenner and Kim Kardashian West, but for now he has the Guinness World Record all to himself.

Justin Timberlake Selfie and the Law

In other selfie news, Justin Timberlake is coming under fire for taking a selfie while voting in Memphis. A Tennessee law passed last year made it illegal to take pictures inside polling places.

The misdemeanor carries a punishment of 30 days in jail and/or a $50 fine in Tennessee. The Shelby County District Attorney is aware of the incident but is not currently planning to pursue any charges against Timberlake.

“No one in our office is currently investigating this matter nor will we be using our limited resources to do so,” Shelby County Attorney General Amy Weirich said in a statement.

Timberlake was one of a few million early voters  across the U.S. He took the photo in question to promote voting on Instagram.

“No excuses, my good people!” Timberlake wrote in his post, which has since been removed from his account. “There could be early voting in your town too. If not, November 8th! Choose to have a voice! If you don’t, then we can’t HEAR YOU! Get out and VOTE!”
