Logan Paul, a Suicide Video and Poor Judgment

In the 21st century, everyone is looking for a way to make their presence known. And Logan Paul is no different. For those of you that haven’t heard of him, Paul is a vlogger with a huge following. He spends his time documenting every minute detail of his life while his followers hang on his every word.

But we all know that is not always a good thing.

The vlogger’s latest video showed him in the Aokigahara forest in Mt. Fuji where he shows a man hanging a few hours after his death. Apparently, the site has been the location of numerous suicides in the past and the internet is not pleased with the latest publicity stunt. Not only did Logan Paul violate the victim’s privacy, he also showed suicide in a romantic light, something anyone with common sense knows is not the case.

It was truly a poor attempt to reach out to those battling depression and mental illness. It does not matter that he included the number for the suicide prevention hotline at the end of the video. The vlog was in poor taste and everyone wants to know “what was he thinking?”

The reality is that it doesn’t matter what he was thinking. He exercised extremely poor judgment and the backlash he is now dealing with is a consequence of his actions. Logan Paul should have known better.

Suicide is no laughing matter and showing a man that recently took his own life hanging for likes and viewership is despicable. It doesn’t matter that the vlogger is only 22-years old, he just should have known better. He is old enough to realize that some things should not be videotaped.

As a vlogger, Paul needs to remember that while he is searching for topics to boost his following, some things are definitely off limits.
