Wubba lubba dub dub! The hit show Rick and Morty, which has garnered a huge fanbase, has catapulted a few catchphrases into online history. If you’ve watched the show, you’ll know how overused “Wubba lubba dub dub” (yes, I did use it) and “I’m Pickle Rick!” have become. But one other detail has taken its own ride on the internet hype train. It’s not some alien species from an obscure dimension, nor does it involve the Council of Ricks. It’s the McDonald’s Szechuan sauce, the one that appeared in the first episode of the third season. So far, there hasn’t been the crazy story arc that Rick described, but it has made its way into our dimension! At least we think. McDonald’s recently announced it would be promoting the sauce on October 7th only. And of course, we assume, that’s in the US. But what about elsewhere? Will McDonald’s Szechuan sauce be available in Canada? Will McDonald’s Szechuan sauce be available in Europe, Australia, or Asia?
It looks like the answer right now is no, McDonald’s Szechuan sauce will not be available in Canada. And no, there won’t be any Szechuan sauce will not be available in Europe, or Asia, or anywhere else. It’s a US-only promotion. Are you curious if your local McDonald’s will be offering the sauce? If you’re a US resident, check out the list of participating restaurants here.
So if you’re living in Canada, or anywhere else for that matter, you won’t be able to get any of that sweet, tangy sauce any time soon. Reports have also indicated, that McDonald’s Canada itself has no plans on doing this promotion either. Here is an official statement from our neighbours to the north:
The Szechuan sauce is not planned on our exciting menu in Canada. It's sad to announce, but we have some other things planned!

So unfortunately, us Canadians (who are lucky enough to live close to the border) will have to make a special trip to our American brothers if we want to get our hands on the sauce. Our European friends and our brothers from down under? It’d be one expensive plane trip (or eBay auction), so it’s unlikely for now. We’ll have to keep our fingers crossed for that one. Or get our hands on a portal gun and grab some from another dimension.
