If you are a fan of bodybuilding, you must know of Rich Gaspari. Enshrined into the IFBB Hall of Fame in 2004, he is definitely one of the most influential bodybuilders in the world. He is also known as “The Dragon Slayer” and “Rich the Itch”. Here are some Rich Gaspari facts that you should know.
From Humble Beginnings
Rich wasn’t always the most athletic guy. He actually started out quite skinny before his bodybuilding career began. He got interested because one of his friends had a collection of bodybuilding magazines. From there, the 15 year old self-described “90-pound weakling” began training. A natural talent with a tremendous work ethic, he began winning local, then state competitions. He even became famous for being one of the youngest nationals winners, taking titles at 20 years old. He went on to be runner up for Mr. Olympia for three consecutive years from 1986-1988.
He went on to win many IFBB Grand Prix and IFBB Pro Championships throughout his career.
Where is Rich Gaspari Now?
Nowadays, Rich Gaspari continues to work out. His Instagram feed is full of pictures and videos of him with weights. Aside from that, he also has his own supplement company, Gaspari Nutrition. During the twilight of his career, he opened up a gym in New Jersey as a post-bodybuilding-career job. After a slow start, Gaspari Nutrition was launched in 1999 with a small product line. Along with this, he also hopes to make a difference in the world of bodybuilding by imparting knowledge on aspiring bodybuilders. But that being said, he still trains five times per week. He also maintains a seat on the judging panel of IFBB competitions.
Now, Gaspari is a proud father who loves nothing more than spending time with his kids.
