More than just a fashion blogger, Fofo is also an MBA student working full-time as a financial advisor for a wealth management firm. Her true title should be fashion advisor considering it has always been her passion and oh— she excels at it! Raised in both London and Boston with roots from Yemen, Fofo uses her Middle Eastern roots to add a unique twist to her work. Her ability to curate the perfect outfit for any occasion has led her to work with some of the most notable names in the industry. Using her blog and social channels, she is able to express her love for fashion, travel, and life. Check out her latest #ootd for the best inspiration there is on her Instagram or blog.
The hardest thing about putting yourself out there on social media possibly has to be about the bullying… but I take it and turn it positive.
Q&A with Fofo
What are three items every girl should buy and drop this season?
No matter what sense of style you rock, there are some clothes that every young woman should own. Trends are fun to play around with, but the classic items are the ones that build a basic wardrobe that will make getting dressed up everyday just a little bit easier and much more fun.
- Fofo’s essentials:
- Versatile black dress
- Ballet flats
- Well-fitted jeans
- Leather handbag (her favorite item!)
- Trends that have to go (and we all agree):
- Isabel Marant sneaker wedges
- Balenciaga boots
What is your favorite style to wear?
I honestly do not think I have a particular favorite style since I wear what I like and what looks good on me. I love to mix a lot of high and low types of fashion. You could say my style is a unique combination of Middle Eastern meets the Western.
Who is your favorite designer and fashion blogger?
Mmmm, hard one. I don’t think I have one, but if I had to pick my favorite designer, it would be Dior. He is absolutely brilliant. Dior has recently reinvented himself and pushed fashion forward. The A&Y lines he created are classic. Also McQueen, he turns macabre beautiful and mixes it with mind bending technique. Every fashion blogger brings something different, so it is really hard to say who my favorite is, because I am constantly inspired by people I see on the street, in the subway, or on Instagram.
