Don’t be so rigid
Sure, it’s important to have a routine. You’ve ironed out a specific set of exercises to perform in a specific order. However, when the gym is crowded, you need a plan B. Maybe even a plan C. The good news is that your workout won’t be ruined if you have to mix things up. Take the time to learn substitute exercises so you can keep things moving even if you run into an obstacle. For example, if all the squat racks are taken, work on goblet squats instead. You can do these anywhere in the gym—no rack needed.
