A big transformation in athletic performance arises following the introduction of a line of adaptive products by Nike to create the “Era of Personalized Performance”.
On March 16th, Nike showcases their new line of unprecedented innovations that tackles Nike’s new direction towards “Personalized Performance”. Nike HyperAdapt 1.0, one of the four innovations introduced, translates deep research in digital, electrical and mechanical engineering into their adaptive lacing feature. HyperAdapt 1.0’s adaptive lacing proposes the ultimate solution to lacing and tension preferences, with personalized lock downs and the ability to make swift micro-adjustments.
Nike’s athletic shoe designer, Tinker Hatfield, says
“Wouldn’t it be great if a shoe, in the future, could sense when you needed to have it tighter or looser? Could it take you even tighter than you’d normally go if it senses you really need extra snugness in a quick maneuver? That’s where we’re headed. In the future, products will come alive.”
Envisioning a future where product changes as the wearer changes, serves for the ultimate tailored experience.
This new direction from Nike foreshadows a rise in athletic performance in the near future. One thing better than wearing the best designed product the world can give is wearing the best product customized to your body and personal preferences.
Athletic shoe designer, Tobie Hatfield, once said, “We do such a great job helping athletes perform better and faster and jump higher, and all that kind of stuff. But what about perform better just in the sense of quality of life?”
Nike’s products don’t just target professional athletes; their recent release of customizable and personalized products further fortifies their mission to bring inspiration and innovation to everyone in the world.
